FtpTree ActiveX Control

We are no longer offering the FtpTree ActiveX Control as a separate product. Instead, FtpTree is included with the FTP Voyager Software Development Kit. When you purchase your copy of the FTP Voyager SDK, you will be sent a registration ID for FtpTree ActiveX Control in addition to your registration ID for the FTP Voyager SDK.

As an added bonus, you will get a FREE registration ID for FTP Voyager to use for development or to use for transferring files in a production environment.

Please be aware that the FTP Voyager SDK license agreement prohibits usage of this SDK to create a program that competes with FTP Voyager directly or indirectly.

Documentation

The FtpTree ActiveX Control's documentation is somewhat sparse. However, through the use of the available documentation, the type library, and the sample applications, an FtpTree ActiveX Control application can be written.

HTML Sample

An HTML sample using FtpTree ActiveX Control is provided. The distribution .CAB file is also in the FtpTree directory under the FTP Voyager SDK installation directory. Place the FtpTree.cab file on your web server, then reference it inside your HTML page. Although FtpTree ActiveX Control is a very powerful ActiveX control and can be used in web pages, some organizations feel ActiveX in web pages is dangerous. Before deploying FtpTree ActiveX Control on a web site, please consider carefully.

NOTE: Browsers not using the Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) browser control for web page rendering, such as Netscape, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera, usually don't natively support ActiveX Controls.

Visual Basic Sample

A VB sample using FtpTree ActiveX Control is provided. The VB sample program is a simple program that allows you to see how to use FtpTree to connect to a server and perform a few FTP operations. Most of the FtpTree documentation can be found in the FtpTree.odl (type library) file.

FtpTree ActiveX License Agreement

The FtpTree ActiveX License Agreement must be followed in order to deploy an application that uses the FtpTree ActiveX Control. One significant part of the license agreement is that your program or application cannot be a general FTP client that competes with FTP Voyager. Releasing such a program or any other violation of the license agreement terminates your license to use FtpTree ActiveX Control.
